Description
(LOOKING FOR DAYTIME & WEEKEND STAFF FOR MAY to NOVEMBER).
Located in Peggy’s Cove, NS, originally constructed as an auxiliary building to a
family home, Spindrift Gallery will be transformed into a main floor art gallery for
tourist and locals to enjoy. Our dedicated staff will host gallery guests, deliver
services, operate facilities, and run programs that support exhibits presented in
the gallery space.
Spindrift Gallery is seeking a passionate, creative, and detail-oriented person to
assist with gallery programs, exhibitions, sales and other activities. Reporting to
the Event Coordinator, this position will assist with:


Responsibilities
• Performing all required POS transactions, both cash and credit card
transactions efficiently and accurately.
• Receiving, handling, replenishing, and processing incoming products.
• Assisting with additional programming and set-up for events.
• Supporting gallery functions such as opening and closing the gallery, sales
(artwork and merchandise).
• Monitor physical surroundings in assigned area prior to and throughout day
for safety, cleanliness and functionality.
• Respond quickly and courteously to patrons’ needs, questions, comments,
or concerns with answers and/or action.
• Daily basic tidying and cleaning of the gallery.
• Open to shift opportunities at The Schoolhouse (sister property).

Skills
• Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
• Must be comfortable engaging with diverse groups of people.
• Basic knowledge and history of the local community and popular gathering
places or willingness to learn.
• Ability to maintain a positive attitude.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Able to work as an individual and as part of a team.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Ability and willingness to work any assignment, including duties not listed
within the scope of this job description.

Education:
• Secondary School (preferred)

Experience:
• Customer service: 1 year (preferred)
• Sales, Tourism, Hospitality, Art & Culture.

visual arts and history through demonstrated experience or education; be
comfortable working independently as well as with a team; be an energetic selfstarter;
be responsible, organized, and professional.

Job Types: Seasonal – Part time
Contract length: 5-6 months
Wadge: $17.00 per hour
Ability to commute:

Schedule:
• 4 hour shift
• 8 hour shift
• Day/evening shift
• Holidays
• 7 days a week
