place to explore and create in all the arts, and where you help award-winning professional theatre come to life.
As our organizaon enters its 30th season, we are looking for a Director of Development who is passionate about the arts, who
wants to build a career in arts development, and who is excited to help us build further resilience for the Centre and Two Planks.
The Ross Creek Centre for the Arts and Two Planks and a Passion Theatre are sister organisaons sharing some resources under
the umbrella of the CoastArts Associaon. Giving voice through the arts, we serve the public on our 178 acre property and our
spectacular facilies through professional live performance, internaonal arst residencies, arts educaon at all levels and in all
disciplines, and through community outreach.

RESPONSIBILITIES (with support of and in collaboraon with other staff and volunteers) :
? Create and implement fundraising campaigns, including
annual appeals and direct mail
? Create and nurture relaonships with stakeholders
? Create and/or uphold comprehensive event plans which
include melines, budgets and responsibilies
? Oversee planning and implementaon of related special
projects and events, including budgeng.
? Work with Communicaons to ensure promoon of all
? Ensure event donors, sponsors, and volunteers are
recognized and thanked in a mely manner
? Create sponsorship proposals and tools for both Ross
Creek and Two Planks, including naming opportunies
? Idenfy and approach prospecve corporate sponsors and
partners including in-kind donors and partners
? Research, write, and submit foundaon applicaons in
collaboraon with Senior Management
? Provide support to the Senior Management team, Board
of Directors, and key volunteers in gi solicitaons.
? Work with program staff to ensure evaluaons are carried
out and we are communicang with stakeholders.
? Write arcles and updates for brochures, social media,
websites, and the public.
? Conduct research in order to idenfy and recommend
potenal funding prospects and opportunies
? Ensure appropriate donor relaons
? Oversee administraon of all stakeholder data in our CRM
system (Salesforce) incl. recognion levels and tax
? Take a lead in all fundraising events and projects and
support other programs and other events and projects
? Mentor development and summer staff and volunteers
? Assist in other organizaonal iniaves as requested by
? Be a core volunteer liaison and manager
? Be an engaged and valued member of our team and our
? Be an ambassador both for our organisaons and for the
importance of the arts in our community, and beyond
Having these qualificaons is ideal but we are also excited to train and mentor the right person for a long term career with us.
? Experience in / knowledge of culvaon and solicitaon
of corporate sponsorship and individual gis
? Outstanding communicaon, presentaon, and
interpersonal skills
? Innovave & self-movated, with the ability to manage a
variety of projects and experiment with cung-edge
? Track record of success in guiding, preparing and
supporng board members and senior staff in culvang
? Knowledge of legal parameters for development
ecosystem, including CRA requirements
? Confidence in approaching new sponsors and donors

? Strong, proven ability to manage, coach and mentor
direct reports and volunteers, including youth
? Proven ability to work independently as well as within a

? Experience working on the administrave team for a
non-profit arts organizaon, especially in performing arts
? Ability to travel within the province and Canada on
? Having your own car is essenal
? Must be able to live within 40 minutes of the Centre


We seek a passionate and energec Director of Development to become one of the leaders responsible for building the future of
our organizaon. Ross Creek and Two Planks are growing and looking forward to our emergence from the pandemic era stronger
than ever.
The Director of Development works hand in hand with our communicaons staff to develop new, and shepherd exisng,
relaonships with community partners and corporate sponsors. They will nurture relaonships with foundaons and individual
donors, and lead fundraising events and special projects. The posion is designed to work closely with senior management to
ensure we are gathering and telling our stories, making our relaonships strong, and stewarding our connecons to our wide
Highly organized, dedicated to the arts, willing to pitch in as part of a small but mighty team making the work of this mul-faceted
organisaon happen, describes the right person. A spirit of posivity, camaraderie and most of all, engagement, are what we
look for. In the summer, there is extended support for all operaons, and in the fall, winter and spring seasons, all staff pitch in
together to ensure many hands make light work. In the COVID era, keeping ourselves and our community safe while operang are
paramount consideraons.
Most importantly, a love of being part of and creang community in and through the arts, a passion for rural living and a great
sense of humour are really important. Confidence and creavity are key and most else can be taught if needed.
