Digital Mi’kmaq is a groundbreaking Indigenous-led grassroots initiative that aims to create
lasting opportunities for Indigenous youth and communities through the interplay of science,
culture, education and digital skills. Since 2018, Digital Mi’kmaq has reached 14,000 students
and educators across Atlantic Canada. Through the adoption of an integrated suite of
programs for students and youth, Digital Mi’kmaq aims to create a new paradigm of economic
growth strategically aligned to the knowledge economy of today.
As our programming and initiatives scale up, we welcome expressions of interest from

Responsibilities
The Curriculum Developer and Educational Facilitator will work collaboratively with other team
members to support the creation and delivery of a series of dynamic programs in the areas of
science, technology, big data, 3D-modelling, AI, the arts, mathematics and the life sciences.
Successful candidates will join a vibrant team of committed individuals ardently working to
increase opportunities and improve the quality of life for the present and future generation of
Indigenous children.
The main responsibilities of this position requires that you work directly with educators, subject
experts and academics to develop, update and improve a qualitative, hands-on STEAMfocused
curriculum in the area of expertise (Computer Science and Mathematics). The
Curriculum Developer and Educational Facilitator will travel to partner schools across Atlantic
Canada to deliver curricula and other enriched programs directly to students ranging from
Grades 4 to 12.

To create, develop and deliver a series of educational programs, initiatives and projects you
must have a very strong foundation of digital and technical skills that can be flexibly adapted
according to the subject area in focus. You will use creative and innovative approaches to
develop and facilitate educational programs for youth. This role requires a creative scientist
who is also skilled at teaching, comfortable working with youth, and confident in the
classroom. You demonstrate initiative and are expected to work effectively to deadline while
also managing new program development and delivery.

About You
• You have a reputation of modelling professional and welcoming conduct both in the office
and in the community.
• You have experience and interest in teaching children with a variety of skill and interest
level.
• You use a positive approach to your work and are genuinely concerned with advancing the
rights of Indigenous peoples.
• Relationship building and the ability to multi-task is natural for you. This is essential.
Qualifications
• Master of Science degree preferred, in any STEAM field, including those in education and
design.
• A minimum of 5 years’ related occupational experience in education or facilitation.
• A demonstrated ability to synthesize complex information and present it in ways that are
accessible to youth and educators encompassing a variety of educational experience.
• A unwavering commitment to excellence and strong work ethic.
• Previous experience in curriculum design and education is essential.
• As all programs involve digital applications, comfort with digital applications, computer
science, coding and applied fields of STEAM is critical.

Other Information
Contract Conditions
Travel is mandatory for the position. Instructors can expect to spend between 10-14 days per
month in community, with all travel, food and incidentals covered.
