OB CALL 2020: ?Art Bikers – Outreach Community Art Facilitator, Wonder’neath Art Society

Terms?: Full-time term position starting the week of June 9th, 2020 - August 29, 2010 (35 hours/week @ $16.00/h)Are you curious about exploring and adapting creative art programming outdoors in line with public healthguidelines this summer? Art Bikers is a mobile community art program based in Halifax. ?For 13 seasons the ArtBikers team of artists has travelled by bicycle and trailer to green spaces throughout HRM to engage children,youth and others in free community art activities. This year's program acknowledges challenges and changes inglobal pandemic times and seeks to share artistic resources and to develop meaningful programming. A successfulapplicant will be a safety-conscious, responsive, and collaborative team contributor.This program is run through Wonder’ neath Art Society-a charitable artist-run organization that encourages andpromotes art as a tool for expression, connection and social transformation by bringing professional artists andlocal residents together in dynamic, creative explorations

rt Biker Qualifications:?Highly creative, innovative and flexible? with ?strong visual arts, craft or theatre skills?Experience engaging children, newcomers, and seniors?Confident and experienced cyclist in good physical condition and comfortable biking in traffic?Strong collaboration and problem-solving skills as part of a team?Ability to work from home and in a studio environment while practicing social distancing guidelines.?Available for the entire season?Able to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings?Please note, to be eligible for this position funded through the Nova Scotia Student Summer SkillsIncentive program (SKILL) Program??candidates must be?: 1. entering or continuing full-timepost-secondary studies in the fall following the summer work term, and 2. be a permanent resident ofthe province or live in Nova Scotia for at least six months prior to the work term.Ideal Art Biker Candidate:?Is curious and excited about interacting with people outdoors while practicing social distancing?Has a playful spirit, and is enthusiastic about engaging/inspiring children and youth through creative arts.?Is excited about exploring creative ways to respond to challenges while prioritizing safety.?Has facilitation experience with children/youth/folks across cultures?Is comfortable working in multiple settings: outdoors in all weather conditions and in a mixed-use studio?Has knowledge of bicycle repair/maintenance?Bilingualism is an asset?Has an interest in community arts and engagement?Is punctual and reliable
