Responsibilities
As a Virtual Volunteer Scouter you will:• Leadvirtual section meetingsutilizing an online virtual platform such as Zoom or Microsoft Teamswith youth that may include Beavers (Ages 5-7), Cubs (Ages 8-10), or Scouts (Ages 11-14). • Role model and leada positive culture that encourages safety, risk management, andprogram quality• becommitted to Scouts Canada’s program—the Canadian Path—that integrates the Four Key Elements: Adventure, Plan-DoReview, SPICES and Youth-led• Ensure familiarity and utilization of with key Scouts Canada resources: Scouts.ca, organizational policies, and procedures• Ensure the policies, procedures and standards of Scouts Canada are adhered to at all times;• Ensure that all incidents are reported in a timely manner and correctly

Skills
COMPETENCIES REQUIRED• 18 years of age -a criminal record check and vulnerable sector search must be completed. • A passion for, and alignment to, Scouts Canada’s Mission and Vision is essential• Possess strong leadership experience –ideally with volunteer backgroundwith youth • Well-developed and effective interpersonal, team-player and communication skills
Excellent planning, organizational and problem-solving skills• Model positive behaviours appropriate to Scouting• Be a registered and active member of Scouting and must maintain the most current level of training• Competent Microsoft Office 365 user with experience in mobile andweb-basedtechnology platforms. • Scouting experience is desirable but previous experience is not mandatory.

TIME COMMITMENT
As a virtual volunteer scouter you will commit to a minimum of 2-3 hours per week. Time commitment includes planning activities for the meeting, facilitation of the section meeting, and engaging in feedback and coaching meetings.

RESOURCES & TRAININGSignificant online resources, training for onboarding and orientationis provided. As a new volunteer you will be required to complete online training before starting your role.
