Description
The Chester Arts Centre founded 2006 is a registered non-profit arts organization that strives to enhance our community by engaging citizens of all ages in learning about, enjoying and actively participating in the creative arts. Our mandate is to maintain an Arts Centre in the Municipality of Chester as a year round community hub for visual arts and other creative arts activity; to provide arts education programming and activities for children and adults of all ages and abilities; to encourage opportunities for visual and other creative arts activity; to stimulate interest in and understanding of visual art and other associated art forms; to partner with other arts and cultural organizations in the development and promotion of artistic activity; to promote professional artists and artistic activity, and to promote the Chester Art Centre as an art destination.


Responsibilities
This position requires a friendly personality, good organization and communication skills, willingness to learn, team player and an interest in arts and culture. The successful candidate will be working with the public, art class participants, children at summer camps, and our volunteers. Duties include assisting art instructors in the delivery of programs, mounting an exhibition, assisting in the development of promotional materials, social media strategies, and data base collection. The position requires the applicant to be proficient on the computer and design abilities are a plus. The successful applicant will report directly to the Executive Director and indirectly to the Board of Directors. The position will be 35 hours per week and may include some weekends. Pay rate: $15.00 hr.
